
Gas prices in West Denver stand a hair above other neighborhoods in the city, though Denver’s average price at the pump is still a bargain compared with the nation as a whole.
The average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded on May 3 in Denver was $2.73, according to the price-tracking app GasBuddy. That compares favorably with the U.S. average price of $2.88, but represents an 11% jump since April 3, when drivers in Denver paid an average of $2.46 per gallon. It’s also higher than this date a year ago, when the average price at the pump in Denver was $2.57, while the national average was $2.81.
In West Denver, the most current GasBuddy numbers show an average price of $2.75 per gallon.
But if you’re willing to hunt around, you can beat the average.
The neighborhood’s lowest price is $2.63, available at the Bradley station, 2698 W. Alameda Ave. Gas Express, at 1660 S. Santa Fe Dr., is offering a price of $2.64 per gallon, while the Sinclair at 1253 W. Alameda Ave. is selling for $2.65. The latter station is one of the highest-rated in the neighborhood by GasBuddy users, with 4.5 stars out of five, and 19 reviews.
Other stations in West Denver with a combination of below-average prices and above-average ratings on GasBuddy include:
7-Eleven, 495 Sheridan Blvd., $2.71 per gallon. With a convenience store, Diesel and pay-at-the-pump, the station has earned a 3.4 star rating and nine reviews by GasBuddy users.
Phillips 66, 1200 W. Alameda Ave., $2.67 per gallon, with five stars and two user reviews.
Sinclair, 502 Sheridan Blvd., $2.69 per gallon. Amenities include a convenience store, carwash and loyalty discount. The station has a 4.1 star rating and 10 reviews. User RichTheKid wrote, “Usually the cheapest gas in this area. Small convenience store with limited selection of items and cigarettes.”
