Just before completing this Requiem Mass, Mozart died, leaving the world one last, if unfinished, masterpiece. City Ballet of San Diego resident choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich has spun his masterpiece into one of her own, creating a haunting vision of Mozart's magnificent score. This ballet features the entire company of dancers, the City Ballet Orchestra and the 80-voice Pacific Coast Chorale, conducted by John Nettles. Rounding out this transformative and moving performance at the Spreckels Theatre is the world premiere of a new work by City Ballet resident choreographer Geoff Gonzalez.

The story follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the British monarchy.
