We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which eateries have been seeing especially high review volumes this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Los Angeles businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increase their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Open since 2016 at 12909 Victory Blvd., the Italian spot, which offers pizza and sandwiches, has seen a 21 percent bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 1.7 percent for all businesses tagged "Italian" on Yelp. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis Pizza Di Roma's review count increased by more than 1,300 percent.

It outperformed the previous month by gaining 1.8 times more reviews than expected based on past performance.
Mendocino Farms offers a chicken cobb salad, a Chinese chicken salad, a chicken and prosciutto salad and an avocado and quinoa superfood salad.
Donut Friend

Downtown Los Angeles's Donut Friend is currently on the upswing in the doughnut category on Yelp.
While businesses categorized as "Donuts" on Yelp saw a median 2.3 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, this doughnut spot increased its by 44.1 percent—and kept its rating consistent at 4.5 stars.
Open for business at 543 S. Broadway since January, the business offers signature doughnut creations like peanut butter and strawberry jam inside a raised doughnut, lemon glaze and poppy seed on a vanilla cake doughnut and chocolate cinnamon crumble and vanilla glaze on a vanilla cake doughnut.
LN2 Pizza Shoppe

Is Melrose's LN2 Pizza Shoppe on your radar? According to Yelp review data, the cocktail bar, which offers pizza and more, is getting plenty of attention.
While businesses categorized as "Pizza" on Yelp increased their media new review count by 2.1 percent over the past month, LN2 Pizza Shoppe nabbed a 51.6 percent increase in reviews within that timeframe, maintaining a healthy 4.5-star rating.
