Interested in adopting a pet — or just gazing at some charming cats? There are dozens of darling cats up for adoption at animal shelters in and around Austin.

Coco VIII, snowshoe

Coco VIII is a female snowshoe cat being kept at Austin Siamese Rescue.

Coco VIII loves other cats. Her ideal forever home would be a dog-free environment. She is already house-trained. Her vaccinations are up to date. Coco VIII is a special needs pet, so please inquire about her specific care requirements.

From Coco VIII's current caretaker:

Coco VIII is as beautiful on the inside as she is beautiful on the outside. Her striking color pattern and piercing blue eyes will captivate you from the moment you see her. She is an older cat who lovingly raised many litters of kittens before finding her way to Austin Siamese Rescue. But don't let her age fool you; she is as playful and friendly as the babies she's raised.

Purrlee, domestic shorthair and tabby mix

Purrlee is a female domestic shorthair and tabby mix in the care of Cats' Angels, Inc. (Cats Angels).

Purrlee is the life of the party, and she's happy to keep company with other cats. Purrlee is already spayed and vaccinated. Have no fear: She's already house-trained.

From Purrlee's current caretaker:

Purrlee is a gentle Tabby female kitty with green eyes, about 10 months old and, oh, so easy going! She has a sweet temperament and starts purring as soon as you scratch her head. She loves people’s attention and shows her appreciation by making biscuits. Active, she is quite playful and loves to bat around her favorite fuzzy toys, which, for some reason known to her only, often end up in the bathtub. Affectionate, she will not hesitate to interrupt her play for a cuddle with her human.

Clack is a male domestic shorthair and tabby mix staying at Austin Siamese Rescue.

Clack will get along great with other cats. Clack is already neutered and vaccinated. He has mastered his house-training etiquette.

Here's what Clack's friends at Austin Siamese Rescue think of him:

Clack is a beautiful foxy-faced boy who thinks he runs the show. He's very active and playful. His favorite toys are crinkle balls and springy toys and the sticks he finds out in the "catio". He also spends a lot of time climbing his scratching post and playing king of the mountain from the top of it.

Ceci, calico and domestic longhair mix

Ceci is a lovable female calico and domestic longhair mix being cared for at Cats' Angels, Inc. (Cats Angels).

Ceci is the life of the party, and she gets along well with other cats. Fear not: She is already house-trained. She's spayed and vaccinated. Ceci is a special needs pet, so please inquire about her specific care requirements.

Notes from Ceci's caretakers:

Ceci is a stunning 2-year old Calico Maine Coon mix with soft and silky fur. She is a friendly girl on a mission: trade purrs, make biscuits and hours of cuteness for the love and care of a devoted human. She is outgoing, playful and affectionate. Trixie, tuxedo

Trixie is an adorable female tuxedo cat currently residing at Purrfect Pals Rescue.

Trixie gets along well with other cats. Her ideal forever home would be a dog-free environment. Trixie is looking for a home without small children. Good news: She's already house-trained. Her vaccinations are already up to date.

Trixie's current caretakers say:

Trixie was adopted as a small kitten but the other female kitty in her foster home doesn’t want to share her people, and terrorizes Trixie all the time. Sadly, the family needs to find her a new forever home. Trixie loves to be in the company of people. When she's "played out" she'll sleep contentedly on a lap, purring all the time. She amuses herself with favorite toys but constantly touches base with her people for a quick pet or nuzzle. The funniest characteristic about Trixie is that she is truly a "millennial" cat and loves all digital screens.

Caleb, Oriental shorthair

Caleb is a male Oriental shorthair cat in the care of Purrfect Pals Rescue.

Caleb loves other cats. He's mastered his house-training etiquette. He already has all of his shots, and he's neutered. Caleb is a special needs pet, so please inquire about his specific care requirements.

Notes from Caleb's caretakers:

Caleb is the sweetest, happiest and seemingly healthiest boy, and doesn't know that there is anything wrong with him. He was born positive for feline leukemia (FeLV), which means that while he has never been sick, nor does he have any symptoms of illness, he will have a very short lifespan of perhaps 5 to 7 years. Caleb is a chirping, zooming bundle of love and he has a loud purr that is "on" at all times. He needs a large space to run and chase toys.

Sapphire, Siamese

Sapphire is a sweet female Siamese cat currently residing at Austin Siamese Rescue.

Sapphire is already spayed and vaccinated. Have no fear: She's already house-trained.

From Sapphire's current caretaker:

Sapphire was returned to ASR after a couple of years with her family. She is an active, playful, inquisitive girl, and she decided it would be fun to pounce on and bite her owners when she was bored. They were an older couple with no other cats, and these games got a little old and painful after a while! We have been trying figure out why Sapphire bites, what provokes her into it. She loves to be next to her people, but we have found that petting her on the head sometimes provokes a nip. She gets overstimulated easily, and if we pet her body too much, she will nip.
