A new Sicilian spot, offering pizza and more, has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Milanas Brooklyn Squares, the new arrival is located at 2000 Ximeno Ave. in Long Beach.

This is the second location in Long Beach for the local chain which encourages patrons to "Eat Like a New Yorker" on its website. Milanas Brooklyn Squares provides Sicilian-style pizza, pasta, New York-style sandwiches and other Italian specialties. On the menu, look for the pepperoni and sausage calzone, the Upper East Side pizza with olive oil, ricotta, parmesan, romano and asiago shavings with a drizzle of honey and the lasagna with garlic bread.

The new arrival has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Kevin o., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 9, wrote, "This place was awesome; the crust is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Amazing sauce and a good amount of toppings. They serve by the slice and by the pizza pie."

Yelper Jonathan R. added, “Pretty solid pizza by the slice. The crust is thick and chewy in a good way, like sourdough bread, without the sour. Sauce is very concentrated with tomatoes cooked down, little to no herbs in it. Not overly cheesed. One slice will fill you up, so be warned."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Milanas Brooklyn Squares is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
