A new vegan ice cream and frozen yogurt spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The newcomer to Long Beach, called Hug Life Ice Creme, is located at 2707 E. Fourth St.
The growing micro-chain — with additional outposts in both Orange and Garden Grove — features a unique selection of 100 percent plant-based ice cream flavors, including cookie butter, Thai tea and black sesame with activated charcoal.
Additional treats include root beer floats, brownie sundaes and ice cream cookie sandwiches. (You can check out the full assortment here.)
Hug Life Ice Creme has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp.
Bridget W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 24, wrote, "Had the Reese's Peaces because — well — chocolate is always a lil' better with peanut butter. Magic shell (topping) is not advertised, so ask for it. Delicious! Plan on going back soon."
"This ice cream is insanely good!" added Yelper Caitlin M. "It's hard to believe it's vegan. So creamy and delicious."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Hug Life Ice Creme is open from noon–11 p.m. daily.
