A new cocktail bar and traditional American spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Southside Flats, called The Vault Taproom, is located at 1327 E. Carson St.

As Pittsburgh's first self-serve draft beer and wine bar, The Vault Taproom provides Southern-style fare like pork belly tacos, Nantucket-style fried green tomatoes and smoked brisket Reuben sandwiches. On the drink list, expect a wide selection of traditional and specialty ales, along with handcrafted cocktails.

The new cocktail bar has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Kay N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 21, wrote, "The food is Southern style, but with a major twist. The self-serve beer is a great feature."

Yelper Jim H. added, “The food is good with a wide variety, from appetizers to full plates. I had a large and smoky pork barbecue sandwich with Not your Mama's mac and cheese, which tasted like someone made it fresh."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The Vault Taproom is open from 11 a.m.–midnight on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
