As fans of cronuts and cake pops can attest, food trends come and go. So how can you tell which tastes are trending today?

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to uncover which eateries have been getting outsized attention this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Atlanta businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are riding a trend right now.

Open since the summer of 2018, this cocktail bar, breakfast, brunch, dinner and New American spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Breakfast & Brunch" on Yelp.

Citywide, breakfast and brunch spots saw a median 1.9 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, but Full Commission saw a 9.8 percent increase, with a slight upward trend from a four-star rating a month ago to 4.5 stars today. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis Full Commission's review count increased by more than 140 percent.

Located at 519 Memorial Drive SE, Suite C-01 in Grant Park, Full Commission offers what the Atlanta Journal-Constitution describes as brief but well-thought-out and expertly prepared menus for breakfast, brunch and dinner. It offers English muffin sandwiches like The Southern — with egg, ham, tomato relish and pimento cheese — and The Northern, with smoked salmon, pickled red onion and caper cream cheese. Another hit is the homemade Pop-Tart.

Open at 3035 Peachtree Road NE, Suite A208, in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta since early 2015, The Southern Gentleman offers an elegant space where a giant portrait of Mark Twain gazes down on diners. The fare would be familiar to the famous fan of American food.
