A new lounge has opened in the neighborhood. Called Layover, it's on a fourth floor rooftop of the InterContinental San Diego hotel at 901 Bayfront Court, Core-Columbia.
Named for the two airfields visible from its bayfront locale, Layover's website says it specializes in canned craft beers and wines, plus slushy versions of classic, aero-inspired cocktails and light bites. The outdoor lounge also features fire pits and heat lamps for chilly nights.
Layover has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Adam J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 10, wrote, "I had a bourbon-based slushie-type drink that was delicious. The views are fantastic especially as the sun sets. This is a good place to come for happy hour or sunset drinks or to bring a friend visiting."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Layover is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. daily.
