Interested in adopting a pet — or just looking at some cuddly canines up for adoption? There are dozens of deserving dogs up for adoption at animal shelters in and around Fresno.

Animal shelters and pet rescue groups work hard to care for unhoused pets and connect them to loving homes. Hoodline used data from Petfinder to power this roundup of dogs currently available for adoption.

(Details like pet availability, training, vaccinations and other features are based on data provided by Petfinder and may be subject to change; contact the shelter for the latest information.)

From Dream Weaver's current caretaker:

This boy has got the looks and even has the cutest smile. He is very quiet and is not a high maintenance dog. He gets along with smaller dogs and dogs his size. He does appreciate if you take things slow and in no time he will be your best friend. If you feel that he is the dog for you please complete your application and our adoption crew we reach out to you and schedule a meet and greet. Due to his age and quiet soul, younger children may scare him, so children under the age of 10 probably would not be a good match. .

Cherryblossom, chihuahua mix

Cherryblossom is a darling female chihuahua mix being kept at Animal Rescue of Fresno.

Cherryblossom loves other dogs. Cherryblossom is looking for a home without small children. Cherryblossom is spayed and vaccinated.

Here's what Cherryblossom's friends at Animal Rescue of Fresno think of her:

Cherry Blossom arrived here from a kill shelter needing love and medical care. She needed a dental and had some mamory tumors that needed to be removed. She is recovering at ARF while she waits for an understanding owner. Due to the circumstances it would be best to go into a home without young children. She is trying to let us know she needs to go potty, but she still has accidents at no fault to her own at this time and we feel given the opportunity to get out she can very easily get kennel-trained and even the possibility of being housebroken.
