We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which eateries have been most discussed this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Dallas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers, compared to past performance.

Open since summer, this bar and bistro is trending, in comparison to other businesses categorized as "Bars" on Yelp.

Citywide, bars saw a median 1.6% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Ebb & Flow saw an imposing 162.5% increase, maintaining a convincing four-star rating throughout.

It's not the only trending outlier in the bar category: Paradiso has seen a 43.2% increase in reviews, and The Crab Station has seen a 34% bump.

Open at 2600 Main St., the New American restaurant and entertainment venue has seen a 24% bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2% for all businesses tagged "American (New)" on Yelp. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, Punch Bowl Social Dallas' review count increased by more than 180%.

There's more than one hot spot trending in Dallas' New American category: Velvet Taco has seen a 5.2% increase in reviews.

In addition to an array of on-site games like bowling and ping-pong, Punch Bowl Social features a vast menu of cocktails and food items, such as cauliflower nachos, five-layer beef brisket chili, a shrimp burger and assorted tacos.
