A man was shot multiple times outside an apartment in the 200 block of East Corporate Drive in Lewisville last Friday night and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers responded around 10:40 p.m. and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds, and his identity has not yet been released to the public.
According to the FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth report, investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act, though the department has not released a suspect description or a motive. Lewisville police are asking anyone with information to come forward as Detective Kalista Kelly leads the investigation. Same Block Saw Gunfire Five Weeks Earlier
This is not the first time this year that gunfire has drawn Lewisville police to the same stretch of East Corporate Drive. Five weeks before the fatal shooting, officers responded on August 4 to reports of gunfire in the 200 block at the Somerset Apartments, located at 256 East Corporate Drive, according to the Irving Weekly. Officers arrested a 25-year-old man during that earlier investigation after he threatened them while being questioned about the shooting.
The corridor has a grim history tied to gun violence. In February 2019, 51-year-old clerk Ashraf Lakhani was shot and killed during an overnight robbery at a Valero gas station on East Corporate Drive, an investigation that later led to capital murder charges against two men, as reported by CBS News Texas. East Corporate Drive includes a mix of commercial and apartment developments in southern Lewisville.
Second Lewisville Shooting in Days
Friday's homicide comes just days after another shooting rattled the city. On September 7, Lewisville police responded to an outdoor shooting in the 1200 block of South State Highway 121 Business, where a restaurant argument turned violent and left two people wounded, per Hoodline.

The department maintains a dedicated Criminal Investigation Division to handle violent crime cases, and its Support Bureau employs a Crime Victim Advocate to help surviving family members with state victim compensation and navigating the justice process.

Should a suspect eventually be identified and charged, Texas law classifies murder as a first-degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison and a fine of up to $10,000, according to Saputo Toufexis. If a defense successfully argues sudden passion at sentencing, the charge can be reduced to a second-degree felony carrying 2 to 20 years.
The homicide adds to a string of recent fatal Lewisville shootings, even as violent crime has trended downward nationally.
