A new lounge, cocktail bar and Mediterranean spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 3345 Penn Ave. in Lower Lawrenceville, the fresh arrival is called The Forge.

The Forge provides custom cocktails, locally-sourced beer and Mediterranean cuisine, with food menu items ranging from pizza pies to Sicilian-style tuna steak to vegan charcuterie boards. On the drink list, look for the Birds and the Bees cocktail, which is a mix of gin, lemon, cactus honey and bitters, as well as the Alon's Noche Verde drink with mezcal, green chartreuse and orange.

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, The Forge has been warmly received by patrons.

Neha C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 11, wrote, "Loved the cozy, comfortable seating, and the drinks were good, too. We ordered the tuna tapas, margarita pizza and the falafel. The margarita pizza was good. The tuna tapas was quite heavy and oily, but good flavor and portion size."

Yelper Dave D. added, “Great food and drinks, along with fast service and the prices are great. Pizza tapas and pitas are real tasty."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The Forge is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Tuesday and Sunday.)
