A new Asian fusion spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Piggyback, the new addition is located at 140 W. 30th St. in Chelsea.

Piggyback is the second restaurant from wife-and-husband team Leah Cohen (a former "Top Chef" contestant) and Ben Byruch, who opened the popular Pig and Khao on the Lower East Side back in 2012. Like that restaurant, the menu at Piggyback features small and large plates inspired by chef Cohen's Filipino heritage and her culinary travels across Asia.

Check out the tuna tartare with Asian pear, the smoked mussels with peanuts and chili flakes, the pork and beef lumpia (Filipino egg rolls) and the Korean-style chicken wings with honey butter gochujang sauce. Other options include rice and noodle dishes and entrees like Hainanese duck and Indonesian lamb rendang.

The drink list at Piggyback is centered around nine specialty cocktails. Try a Mercenary's Revenge (with rye, calvados and pandan) or a Wing Sauce (with bourbon, scotch, absinthe and soy brown butter).

Piggyback has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Rigo G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 21, wrote, "Great food, service and atmosphere."

Yelper Alexis B. added, “Wow! The food was amazing!"

Head on over to check it out: Piggyback is currently open from 5–11 p.m. on Sunday-Thursday, 5 p.m.–midnight on Friday and 5–11 p.m.on Saturday, with plans to add lunch and brunch service.
