A new Korean spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The new addition to the East Village, called Doma, is located at 120 First Ave.

Opened by the team behind The Tang, this "eclectic bistro," as Doma bills itself, serves up Korean Fusion small and large plates, as well as cocktails made with soju, sake and other Asian spirits.

On the menu, guests will find shareables like Korean-style ceviche (made with prawns, squid and conch), kimchi arancini and a platter of assorted fried anju, or Korean bar bites. Other options include bibimbap and udon soup, as well as heftier entrees like beef short rib stew and Korean fried chicken served with fried sweet potatoes.

Doma's drink list features five signature cocktails, in addition to a selection of sake, soju and beers from China, Japan and South Korea. Check out the Maksosa, a combination of makgeolli rice wine, soju and Sprite.

With a five-star rating out of 15 reviews on Yelp so far, Doma seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Cathy Z., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 6, wrote, "Doma is a new gem I never knew East Village needed!"

Yelper Christina J. noted, “Great food and service! Love the beef short rib stew! Highly recommend!! Will definitely come back."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Doma is open from noon–midnight on Sunday-Wednesday, noon–1 a.m. on Thursday and noon–3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
