A new Italian restaurant has made its debut in Staten Island's Urby waterfront development.
Taking over the space that once housed Barca (44 Navy Pier Court), the newcomer, called PastaVino, remains under the management of duo Dave Pasternack and Victor Rollo, according to Eater New York. Instead of Barca's upscale seafood concept, the new restaurant offers guests a more casual trattoria/enoteca experience.
On the menu at the 120-seat restaurant, expect classic antipasti, pasta dishes, and meat and seafood entrees. Stop in for trays of imported cheese and charcuterie; orders of arancini and crispy calamari; plates of gnocchi with pesto, linguine with clams, and lasagna Bolognese; and mains like chicken marsala and whole branzino. PastaVino also serves classic desserts like cannoli, gelato and more, and offers a wine list that boasts more than 100 different wines from all regions of Italy.
The business has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Patrice D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 10, wrote, "LOVED this place! Pasta was homemade, burrata was fresh, the staff was very nice and accommodating."
Yelper Marisa R. noted, "Perfect for a date night or night out with friends."
Head on over to check it out: PastaVino is open from 5–10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 5–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3–8 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
