The road rage incident that took place on I-580 has led Antoyne Terrell Bullock, a 43-year-old from Oakland, to be charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition and face possible severe penalties if convicted, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California. Bullock's actions on May 25, 2023, have not only put his own life in jeopardy, but also endangered the lives of the other motorists on the busy freeway. He now awaits the next steps in his court proceedings, facing a range of possible punishment durations.

The incident unfolded rather dramatically, with Bullock, in his Ford SUV, speeding up next to the driver of a Dodge truck, before rolling down the rear back passenger window and taking aim at the driver, sending a bullet into the driver side window and causing it to shatter, as the CBS San Francisco report described the scene. Understandably, the Dodge's driver ducked in response to the unexpected gunfire, inadvertently turning the steering wheel in the process and leading to a collision with the defendant's SUV, which caused it to overturn and roll multiple times before coming to a screeching halt on its roof, as detailed in the criminal complaint.

Both Bullock and his female passenger attempting to flee the scene of the accident, but were swiftly apprehended by CHP officers who had arrived on the scene.. The officers recovered a P80 handgun and keys to the Ford SUV, as well as a loaded magazine in Bullock's pocket, further solidifying the evidence against him.

Given the aggravated circumstances surrounding Bullock's actions and the possession of the firearm and ammunition in question, the charge he now faces carries with it some serious potential penalties should he be convicted, including a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, a fine of up to $250,000, a maximum of 3 years' supervised release, and a $100 special assessment, as stated in the press release.
