The San Mateo Police Department (SMPD) launched an investigation into a gruesome stabbing homicide that disturbed the peaceful suburban neighborhood according to their report.
At 3:48pm, SMPD received information about a possible stabbing incident in the area, which led them to believe it had occurred at an apartment complex on the 200 block of 37th Ave. Lacking a specific address or confirmation of the victim, officers relentlessly began a door-to-door canvas of the apartment complex, determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to the victim and their family.
Finally, at 6:37pm, after nearly three hours of methodical search, the officers found the lifeless body of the stabbing victim inside an apartment on the 200 block of 36th Ave, just a street away from the initial area of interest. The evidence gathered so far suggests that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, raising questions about the motive behind this crime.
