A recent stabbing incident occurred in Hillcrest on July 20, involving four friends who were engaged in a verbal altercation, which ultimately became physical, leading to a tragic outcome. The argument took place at approximately 9:55 p.m. near the Rite Aid on 500 Robinson, according to 619 News Media on YouTube uploaded today, during which a 27-year-old woman allegedly used a broken bottle and knife to cut and stab a 29-year-old woman.
A 28-year-old man attempted to intervene and break up the fight, but he was also stabbed in the process, as reported by FOX 5 San Diego. Due to the severity of the injuries, both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment for their serious but non-life-threatening wounds. Following the incident, police apprehended the suspect, Irma Gutierrez, a short distance away from the scene of the crime.
Authorities arrested Gutierrez on suspicion of two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and she was subsequently booked into the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee. Her arraignment was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on July 25 at the Central Division Court in San Diego.
Investigators from the San Diego Police Department's Western Division have since been examining the case, seeking any additional information that may shed light on the events leading up to the altercation. In an effort to further their investigation, they are urging anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
