Hammer-Wielding Teenager Arrested in Shocking Redwood City Assault and Robbery

A 17-year-old male suspect has been arrested in connection with a brutal hammer attack and robbery that took place last month in downtown Redwood City, as reported by the East Bay Times. This horrifying incident occurred on June 8 in the Jefferson Avenue underpass and involved two juvenile victims and multiple suspects.

According to the Redwood City Police Department, one of the suspects hit both victims with a hammer, resulting in serious eye injuries for one of the victims. The police department's Downtown Services Unit and Investigations Division worked in collaboration to identify the suspect who was wielding the hammer.

On Tuesday, the teenager was arrested and subsequently booked into San Mateo County Juvenile Hall on felony charges of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Police said they found evidence related to the alleged crimes at his home in Redwood City.

No information has been released about the second suspect in the attack, and it remains unclear whether this individual has been arrested.
