On June 10, 2023, Lloyd Gant, a 47-year-old unhoused resident of Fremont, was reported to be naked inside a local business, soliciting customers and employees to participate in sexual acts, according to a Fremont Police Department press release. He then committed sexual battery against a customer and forced the same person to perform a sexual act on him.

When police officers arrived on the scene, Gant refused to cooperate, leading to a struggle where he tried to remove the holstered firearm from one of the officers but ultimately taken into custody without further injuries. Gant has a history of prior convictions for indecent exposure and is required to register as a sexual offender under the Sex Offender Registration Act.
On June 13, 2023, the case was presented to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, resulting in Gant being charged with seven felony counts and one misdemeanor count. Charges include attempt oral copulation by force or duress, indecent exposure with a prior, sexual battery, attempt to remove a firearm from a peace officer, resisting an executive officer by threat or violence, and battery upon a peace officer.
Fast forward to June 27, 2023, a preliminary hearing was held, and Gant was held to answer on each of the charges. He is currently in custody at Santa Rita Jail.
