
A 31-year-old man from San Jose, identified as William Stewart, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of burglary tools on July 19, 2023, following a stabbing incident that occurred outside a Safeway store in Mountain View, according to an official report from the Mountain View Police Department. The victim, a 34-year-old East Palo Alto man, suffered multiple stab wounds but managed to provide crucial information about his attacker before being rushed to the hospital.
Soon after the stabbing report, a patrol officer spotted a man matching the suspect's description at the Castro Street VTA Light Rail station and detained him without any further incident. The motive behind the attack and other details remain under investigation by detectives from the Mountain View Police Department.
Fortunately, the victim in this case is recovering at home, as reported by the Mountain View Police Department. There are no outstanding suspects and the police were prompt in informing the community about this incident after conducting necessary follow-up investigations.
