Chilling revelations surrounding the arrest of an assistant site director from Fiesta Gardens International School in San Mateo on a multitude of child sexual exploitation crimes. Kevin Granados-Elizalde, a 25-year-old resident of Redwood City, has shocked the community, as parents and educators grapple with this case.
Granados-Elizalde was taken into custody in late June, following a disturbing report from a concerned parent about inappropriate interactions between her child and the site director. This brought to light the case of this man, who had been previously trusted to ensure the safety and welfare of the children under his care.
As reported by Henry Lee KTVU, Granados-Elizalde has now been charged by the San Mateo Police Department (SMPD) with lewd acts involving two boys aged 7 and 8. These acts were allegedly committed in the bathroom of the Boys and Girls Club summer camp program at Fiesta Gardens International School. Granados-Elizalde is also accused of having child pornography and using the boys for such.
The chilling charges against Granados-Elizalde include contacting a minor to commit a felony, arranging a meeting with a minor, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under fourteen years old, use of an underage person for obscene matter, and possession of child pornography.
As the investigation continues, the SMPD requests that anyone with information or who has been a victim of Granados-Elizalde come forward and contact Detective Sergeant Dave Manion at (650) 504-7568 or by email at [email protected]. In response, the San Mateo Police Department, in collaboration with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), has provided several tips and preventative measures to help protect children from such predators.
