
A string of robberies has hit the Rolando neighborhood with the latest occurrence being an AM/PM convenience store robbed early Monday morning. The suspect is still at large.
According to the Times of San Diego, the robbery occurred around 1:07 a.m. on Monday near the 6300 block of El Cajon Boulevard. The suspect entered the store and demanded money from the employee. The worker complied and handed over the money in the register, only to lose sight of the robber as he left the premises.
Authorities are searching for the culprit, described as a man in his mid-30s, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall, and heavyset, who was wearing a red sweater and red sweatpants at the time of the incident. As Fox 5 mentioned, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) robbery detectives are currently investigating the case.
Fortunately, the employee on duty was not injured during the robbery, but the exact amount of money stolen has yet to be determined, as highlighted by Fox 5 and the 10News report.
