William Joseph Boulier, a 39-year-old from San Mateo County, California, faces assault and firearms charges following an incident back in February 2022 when he allegedly fired at a passing truck without provocation. Boulier was held to answer after a preliminary hearing today, according to San Mateo County DA's Twitter feed.

The arrest took place back on February 14, 2022, when San Mateo Police Department apprehended the suspect. Immediately following the arrest, detectives served a search warrant on Boulier's residence, yielding an unnerving discovery of weapons and ammunition, as reported by San Mateo PD's Facebook.

Detectives located approximately ten functioning firearms, parts and pieces for an additional ten firearms, over 30 loaded and unloaded gun magazines, thousands of varying brands and calibers of ammunition, and gun manufacturing equipment. The collection included both serialized and unserialized weapons, commonly known as "ghost guns." All items were subsequently collected as evidence, and firearm charges pending.

This discovery highlights the growing concern surrounding untraceable "ghost guns" in addition to the sheer number of weapons one individual can accumulate within their private residence.

As legal proceedings continue, the suspect now awaits arraignment set for August 15, 2023.
