On Tuesday, authorities apprehended Marcus Fox, a 33-year-old man, suspecting his involvement in a series of spot fires in Spring Valley, California. Fox was detained and is facing charges for his alleged actions, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.
Early in the morning, deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station hastily responded to reports of multiple fires along Bancroft Drive and Troy Street. The fires were discovered near rubbish, wood pallets, and a trash dumpster. Fortunately, firefighters and witnesses arrived quickly to rapidly extinguish the fires, ensuring no structures were burned or threatened.
Following these events, deputies spotted Fox near one of the fires, apprehending him for further interrogation.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were contacted and began an investigation into the origin and cause of these fires, as reported by the San Diego Sheriff's Department. They concluded that arson was the cause, developed probable cause to arrest Fox, and charged him with four counts of Arson to Property.
