The city of Santa Clara is bracing itself for an influx of traffic on August 30 as Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour stops at Levi's Stadium. According to a traffic advisory from the Santa Clara Police Department and a notice on the city government's website, heavy traffic and delays are anticipated on major thoroughfares leading to and from the stadium, including Highways 101, 237, 880, Lawrence Expressway, Great America Parkway, and San Tomas Expressway. Travelers are advised to expect increased traffic from around 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Given that the concert is estimated to have about 47,000 attendees, the city has put forth several recommendations to alleviate traffic concerns. Tasman Drive will be closed from Convention Center Circle to Centennial / Marie P DeBartolo Way starting at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event, and the offramp slipway from eastbound Tasman Drive to Stars and Stripes Drive will remain closed through the conclusion of the event, with limited exceptions. The Santa Clara Police Department urges concert-goers to take public transportation, such as the Valley Transportation Authority, ACE/Capitol Corridor heavy rail, or CalTrain, if possible.

In an effort to quickly, yet severely return traffic disturbances near pre-concert levels, the city plans to implement counterflow measures on Highway 237 at Great America Parkway. The off-ramps will be closed, Great America Parkway will also be closed northbound from Highway 101 and southbound from Highway 237. Residents are encouraged to allow additional time for travel and consider taking alternate routes to and from their homes. Additionally, parking in residential neighborhoods is highly discouraged.

The Levi's Stadium event presents a considerable challenge for the city and its residents. To better serve the community, the Santa Clara Police Department has set up a dedicated non-emergency, stadium-related incident phone line at (408) 615-2280. This line will be available during event hours for callers to report incidents that require immediate attention.
