93-Year-Old Driver Dead After Multi-Vehicle Accident in Santa Clara

A 93-year-old female resident of Santa Clara has been pronounced dead after being involved in a dangerous, multi-vehicle accident on August 21, 2023, according to Santa Clara Police Department's press release. The elderly woman, driving a silver Mercedes, ran afoul on southbound Lawrence Expressway north of the El Camino Real off-ramp when her vehicle collided with two other automobiles.

Officials reported that the vehicle was seen speeding through a stop sign from the parking lot located at 3705 El Camino Real before the collision on Lawrence Expressway occurred. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Astonishingly, no other drivers involved in the accident suffered any injuries. The senior driver was pronounced deceased on August 27, 2023, by VMC medical staff, nearly a week after the incident took place.
