
In the fading hours of daylight on Wednesday, a 72-year-old man fell victim to a brutal attack in San Diego's Old Town neighborhood.
According to ABC 10 News, the man was stabbed in his abdomen by an unidentified assailant around 6:30 p.m.
Officers of the San Diego Police Department arrived on the scene — a stretch of Taylor Street by a trolley station — after receiving an emergency call. As reported on Fox 5 San Diego, the first responders discovered that the senior citizen was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for further examination and treatment.
Authorities have not yet produce any information on the attacker, but the Western Division of the San Diego Police Department has taken the lead in the ongoing investigation.
