The San Diego Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. However, the car evaded the police and was involved in a brief pursuit, during which multiple other moving violations were committed.
The officers were surprised when they discovered four juveniles in the vehicle, who were subsequently taken into custody without incident. Upon searching the car, officers came across a bag that contained a ghost gun, three knives, and some marijuana, according to the Sierra Sun Times.
All four teenagers, at some point during the short pursuit, were in a position to control the firearm. They were all charged with possession of a firearm and were eventually released to their parents.
Ghost guns have become an increasingly concerning issue for law enforcement officials, as these weapons lack serial numbers and can be assembled from parts, making them difficult to track. Authorities suggest that ghost guns have been increasingly used in criminal activities.
