Gunfight at Jack Farrell Park: Four Suspects Indicted in Deadly Palo Alto Shootout that Killed Raiders Davante Adams' Cousin

A massive breakthrough occurred today in the homicide investigation surrounding the shootout at Jack Farrell Park that endangered the lives of innocent children caught in the crossfire according to the East Palo Alto Police Department. On August 4, 2023, the San Mateo County Criminal Grand Jury indicted four suspects, now identified as Miguel Bracamontes, Bobby Williams, Luis Mariscal, and Michael Tyrone Darrell McNack, on numerous charges and enhancements, including assault with a deadly weapon and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. What's more, three out of the four suspects were already locked up for separate charges at the time of the indictment.

The chilling incident occurred at Jack Farrell Park on May 17, 2022, where Ralph Fields, cousin of Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, tragically lost his life, four adult males were injured, and countless children were severely traumatized. It has been over a year since this tragic event occured in East Palo Alto. Now, with the suspects facing indictment, there is hope for justice for the victims and their families.

Based on witness statements, Grand Jury proceedings, and forensic evidence, it has become clear that Bracamontes, Williams, Mariscal, and McNack were the individuals involved in the disturbing gunfight that fateful day as per the East Palo Alto Police Department. Following the indictment, the final suspect on the run, Michael McNack, was arrested by the United States Marshal Service on August 8, 2023, successfully closing in on all those allegedly responsible for the chilling crime.

The arraignment is scheduled for today, August 9, 2023, at 8:30 AM in Redwood City, California. It comes as a significant relief to the East Palo Alto community who have been grappling with the aftermath of the violent ordeal for well over a year. 

Though it took months for the case to make significant progress, with initially only two people connected to the shooting incident being arrested on outstanding warrants as per the East Palo Alto Police Department, the agencies finally were able to get the suspects to face their charges in court.
