In a shocking event that occurred in May of this year, two armed suspects, Anhkhao Ledo and Nicholas Boyd, executed a home invasion robbery in San Jose, robbing a group of ten people participating in a poker game, stealing over $30,000 in cash and other items, according to a San Jose Police Department (SJPD) press release.

The suspects forced their way into the residence located on Ambrose Court by smashing the rear sliding door in the middle of the poker game, demanding the victims to get on the floor and hand over their money. During the ordeal, one of the suspects used a firearm to strike a victim in the head, leaving the person injured.

The SJPD responded quickly to the robbery report and managed to apprehend Anhkhoa Ledo with the help of a police canine. They discovered some of the stolen property and one of the firearms involved in the crime during a search of the area, as reported by SJPD.

However, the second suspect, Nicholas Boyd, remained on the run, forcing SJPD detectives to launch an intense investigation, which led to obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

On July 26, 2023, the SJPD Covert Response Unit located Nicholas Boyd at a residence in San Jose. The suspect had barricaded himself inside a home occupied by two children with special needs. Adding further drama to the scene, the standoff continued when Boyd tried escaping through an attic space but fell into an adjoining neighboring residence.

Fortunately, the SJPD officers were able to safely evacuate the two children from the primary residence, minimizing any potential harm. After several attempts to negotiate, Nicholas Boyd finally exited the neighboring residence, surrendering to the police and ending the standoff without any further incident,

For now, the investigation is still ongoing, and the SJPD urges anyone with information on this case or similar cases to come forward.
