
According to the San Mateo Police Department, On August 17, 2023, a sexual assault case involving a juvenile female resulted in the arrest of 43-year-old resident, Luciano Alvarez Valencia, at his residence following an extensive search.
The incident took place on the 2300 block of Holland Street, where the father of the victim alerted the police. Various officers were quickly dispatched to ensure the safety of the victim, and the whole department coordinated its resources to put together a robust investigation. Ultimately, Valencia was found the next day, on August 18, at 7:40 a.m. hiding in the backyard of a house on the 1300 block of Adrian Avenue and was promptly placed under arrest.
Valencia was eventually arrested by the San Mateo Police Department and is now facing charges, including contacting a minor with intent to commit a sex crime and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
