In Redwood Village, a 36-year-old pedestrian was standing in the northbound left lane of College Avenue, when he was struck by a 2007 Nissan Titan truck making a left turn onto the same street. 

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the man suffered severe injuries.

According to Times of San Diego, the 73-year-old man behind the wheel was driving westbound on University Avenue before making the fateful turn.

The collision, which took place shortly before 4:30 p.m., left the pedestrian with a lacerated liver, requiring immediate surgery. Thankfully, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

San Diego Police Department (SDPD) ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor in the collision. The driver appears to have been cooperating with the ongoing investigation by the SDPD's Traffic Division.
