A 14-year-old girl was shot multiple times in the legs near an Oak Park apartment complex in San Diego, according to local authorities who are scrambling to find the individual responsible for the incident, which took place around 10:15 p.m. on August 7, 2023, amid a group of young people hanging outside the apartments.
The gathering took place at the 5400 block of Bayview Heights Place, and the girl was walking through a parking lot when she was suddenly hit in both her legs by gunfire; in the aftermath of the shooting, the group dispersed.
Fortunately, the girl's injuries are considered non-life-threatening, and she was taken to Rady Children's Hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the San Diego Police Department. A description of the suspected shooter is, as of now, still unavailable.
