Yohanes Kidane, a 22-year-old Netflix software engineer vanished in the Bay Area on Monday night, triggering an exhaustive search by his family, the San Jose Police Department, and countless concerned individuals all across the community. The Kidane family is imploring anyone with information to come forward and provide assistance in locating their son and brother, hoping that somebody, somewhere, knows something that will ultimately lead to a resolution.

Yohanes, a recent Cornell University graduate, according to NBC Bay Area, went missing after being last seen entering an Uber in front of his San Jose apartment. His distraught family later discovered that his phone's location had ceased to change near the Golden Gate Bridge on the fateful night in question, as KTVU reported. Yohanes' phone, wallet, keys, and backpack were subsequently found near the Welcome Center, yet there has been no trace of the man himself.

Yohanes is described as a black man standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a black hoodie, and black shoes. He had just relocated to the Bay Area to commence his job at Netflix.

His brother, Yosief, stated that two of Yohanes' colleagues had seen him that evening and he mentioned his plans to head to San Francisco, potentially to meet up with a friend.

The San Jose Police Department has confirmed the existence of a missing persons case for Yohanes, and other organizations such as Marin CHP, Golden Gate Bridge Patrol, and the U.S. Coast Guard have been contacted for updates on the status of the investigation, which remains open and ongoing.

We echo their calls for anyone with information on Yohanes' whereabouts to urgently reach out to the San Jose Police Department at (408) 277-8900, and reference case number 23-227-0531. Relatives can also be contacted directly at (585) 489-4880 or (585) 500-5220.
