Authorities have made significant progress in the 2022 Lincoln Park shooting case, with the arrest of three new suspects bringing the total number of people in custody to five, this comes almost a year after the tragic incident according to Fox 5 San Diego; the arrests mark a breakthrough moment for the investigation and shed new light on the still-unfolding case.
On August 12, 2022, 27-year-old Tre'Von Stewart-Jordan was fatally shot at an apartment complex on 4900 Logan Ave, Lincoln Park, sparking an investigation that has continued for nearly a year, with the first arrest made on August 31 – Joseph Nisbet – who was suspected of having a connection to the murder, and a 17-year-old juvenile was later arrested on November 16 on suspicion of homicide.
In an ongoing investigation, detectives identified three additional suspects – 26-year-old Tambrisha Jones, 25-year-old Haben Haile, and 21-year-old Richard Bell, all on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to commit murder as per the San Diego Union-Tribune; a collaboration between the Los Angeles Police Department and U.S. Marshals led to the arrest of Jones in Glendale, California, on Monday, while Haile and Bell were already in custody on other charges, and have now been booked on suspicion of the same offenses.
The new arrests provide hope that the lengthy investigation, which has seen detectives working tirelessly for close to a year, may finally come closer to reaching a satisfactory conclusion as authorities look to deliver justice and closure to Stewart-Jordan's family and friends; the five suspects are scheduled to be arraigned at the Downtown Courthouse on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
