
Tragedy unfolded in Oceanside when a 16-month-old toddler was fatally struck by a truck yesterday. According to NBC San Diego, the young boy was hit by a white Ford F-150 driven by a 62-year-old Oceanside resident around 3:40 p.m. on the 3200 block of San Tomas Drive, before succumbing to his wounds despite the valiant efforts of first responders on the scene.
Initial reports provided by the Oceanside Police Department spokesperson, Jennifer Atenza, indicated that the child may have wandered out into the street, consequently coming into the path of the oncoming truck. The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation, per ABC 10 News.
