A traffic accident on Highway 101 in San Jose claimed one life on the night of August 4th, 2023. According to KRON4, the collision occurred late Friday night when a white Hyundai Genesis was found stopped on the left shoulder of the highway near Yerba Buena Road.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene, immediately ordering the closure of the southbound lane of Highway 101 to the Yerba Buena Road off-ramp and issuing a Sig-alert at 11:57 p.m. A coroner was also called to the scene, confirming the tragic loss of life in the accident.
In an official CHP Bay Area Twitter post, details about the accident were disclosed, revealing that an ambulance was en route to the scene, and the collision partially blocked the slow lane. Both the CHP and the San Jose Fire Department Engine 24 and Engine 624 were present at the site of the accident.
The specifics of the accident are still under investigation.
