In a horrific incident on the night of August 26, 2023, San Jose witnessed its 25th homicide of the year. The city's police department responded to a call reporting a family disturbance, only to find a heartbreaking outcome. According to an official statement by the San Jose Police Department (SJPD), a father and his adult son engaged in a physical altercation that led to the tragic death of the father.
Officers arrived at the scene near Donnington Drive and Lockhaven Way around 8:27 PM, discovering the father unresponsive. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Although the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, the son was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail. The identity of the suspect is expected to be revealed soon, while the identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after notifying the next of kin.
