On Wednesday night, residents of the Southcrest neighborhood in San Diego became witnesses to a violent event that could have ended much differently. The situation unfolded outside of a store located at 1000 S. 38th St., where two men engaged in a heated argument, leading to a stabbing and an arrest, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

The incident took place at around 8 p.m. when a chilling scene emerged on the quiet streets of Southcrest. According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the suspect, 35-year-old Mario Garcia Jaimes, pulled out a knife and stabbed the 37-year-old victim in the chest and leg as reported by the Times of San Diego.

Police officers arrived at the scene and quickly located Garcia Jaimes in the area, as he didn't manage to go far before being arrested. 

The 37-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. The injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.

In the aftermath of this incident, the responsibility falls on the shoulders of the detectives from the San Diego Police Southeastern Division to analyze and understand the sequence of events that culminated in the violent altercation.
