
Two men found themselves in a violent conflict yesterday evening. Tensions escalated, and in an apartment complex located at 9669 Gold Coast Drive in Mira Mesa, a stabbing ensued, leaving one man injured and another facing the consequences of his actions. According to Fox 5 San Diego, San Diego police arrived at the scene around 8:40 p.m.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, discovered he had been stabbed in the upper abdomen, a potentially life-threatening wound were it not for the quick response of medical professionals. Times of San Diego reports that the man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, successfully avoiding a more harrowing outcome. Thankfully, his injury was deemed non-life threatening.
As the aftermath of this confrontation unfolded, the suspect, 36-year-old Jonathan Boaz, remained at the scene. Boaz chose to surrender himself to police without incident, to the watchful eyes of the community. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, as reported by Fox 5 San Diego.
While the circumstances that led to this violent altercation remain under investigation, there remains much to be learned about the motivations behind the stabbing.
