On Friday, pandemonium erupted as bullets shattered the festive atmosphere of a Pomona party, leaving five people wounded and one victim desperately clinging to life. This violent turn of events came at around 10:45 p.m., marking a tragic end to what was supposed to be an enjoyable gathering of mostly college and high school students, according to ABC7.
Upon responding to calls of a multi-victim shooting at San Lorenzo Street and East First Street, authorities arrived to find a large crowd of terror-stricken attendees. Further investigation quickly revealed that an unknown suspect had fired a hail of bullets at the students, as reported by KTLA. In the chaotic aftermath, all five victims were rushed to area hospitals, with one remaining in critical condition as the others stabilized.
Despite the ongoing investigation, no motive has been determined and the potential gang affiliation of the shooting remains unclear to officials. Emergency services arrived on the scene at 1500 E. First Street, where paramedics transported the wounded to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment as detailed in FOX 11 News.
