Twice in less than a week, a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in San Marcos became the target of burglary, causing damages and loss in the thousands. The San Diego County Crime Stoppers, along with investigators from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station, are seeking the public's assistance to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for these crimes.
The first incident occurred on July 14, when two unknown male suspects gained access to the Baskin-Robbins located at 730 Nordahl Road by using the combination to unlock a lockbox containing the store key. While inside, they stole approximately $120 in cash and caused significant damage to the store's security system.
Merely three days later, on July 17, the same shop once more fell victim to burglary. This time, the suspects forcibly shattered the front glass door to enter the establishment as seen in the surveillance video shared by the San Diego County Sheriff. Once inside, the assailants dismantled a safe, making off with an additional $1,500 in cash. The combined cost of repairs for the door and the safe is estimated at around $2,500.
The unidentified suspects have been captured on video surveillance during both incidents. Suspect #1 is described as an unknown race adult male, standing 6' tall and weighing 180 lbs. Suspect #2 is described as an unknown race adult male, 5' 8" tall and weighing 210 lbs.
