Come Monday, October 2, Menlo Park will see a transformation, with construction due at the Kelly Park Access Road, lasting until Friday, November 10. According to an announcement by the City of Menlo Park, the anticipated project aims to ensure road safety and improve accessibility for residents. However, commuters should brace for disruptions over the two-month construction phase.
In specific the North Access Road, will see significant changes. From October 2 through November 5, traffic lanes are to be reduced to a single lane on weekdays, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Full-time flaggers will direct the flow during this period. Pedestrian access to Kelly Park and the Belle Haven Youth Center portables will be rerouted via the construction site's concrete walkway. Notably, the pedestrian entrance will move closer to the Terminal Avenue parking lot entrance.
Despite construction, parking near Beechwood School will remain open. However, all should note that during the final week of construction, from November 6 to November 10, the repaving of the Kelly Park Access Road will prohibit vehicle access between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. After-hour access during this week could be challenging due, to the fluctuating road surface conditions. It's advisable for the community, to follow construction signage and instructions when navigating through this area.
Finally, we echo the sentiments of safety. As construction begins, drivers are urged to slow down, remain vigilant for pedestrians entering the roadway, and ensure they park within the allowed locations.
