Early this morning, a tragedy that unfolded left one woman dead and a man severely injured in Lancaster. According to KNX News, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office identified the deceased woman as 43-year-old Stephanie Silva.
The shooting occurred just before 3 a.m. when deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to a call in the 44900 block of Valley Central Way. Though originally only reporting one shooting victim, they tragically discovered Silva with a gunshot wound to her upper body. Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived, and Silva was pronounced dead at the scene.
But the violence didn't end there. As CBS Los Angeles reported, a man believed to be around 30 to 35 years old, was also found with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Though initial reports indicated that the man had passed away, officials later corrected the information, stating he was alive and in stable condition at the hospital.
Details surrounding the shooting remain limited, with no immediate information on a possible suspect or the circumstances leading to the violent incident. In an effort to bring justice to the victims and their families, the sheriff's Homicide Bureau is actively seeking information to find the person responsible. No arrests have been made, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
