Earlier this week officers from Districts B-3 (Mattapan) and C-11 (Dorchester) executed a search warrant in the area of 419 Seaver Street, Dorchester, recovering a 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with blanks and a replica Glock 19 pellet gun. The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into an armed robbery committed days earlier, on September 23, 2023 according to an official update from the Boston Police Department.

The armed robbery incident occurred at 90 Glenway Street, where the suspect displayed a firearm and stole an unspecified amount of money. Detectives managed to track the involved perpetrator through security camera footage. Suspect Andrew Singleton, 38, of Dorchester, was later traced to an apartment at the same address as the search warrant. Singleton now faces additional charges in Dorchester District Court.

Following the identification of the suspect and his location, earlier this week, officers and detectives attempted to make contact with Singleton at the apartment. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to get Singleton to answer the door, negotiators and SWAT were requested to the scene as reported by the Boston Police Department. While executing the search warrant after Singleton's arrest, officers recovered the two firearms.
