Yesterday, an announcement was made by the Milpitas Police Department that two suspects from Fremont had been arrested for burglary and auto theft.
In this case, occurring on September 12, lockers in the women's locker room at the 24-Hour Fitness on 719 E. Calaveras Bl. were targeted, with assailants stealing items including phones, wallets, and keys to a Jeep Grand Cherokee, as per the Milpitas Police Department. The suspects proceeded to steal the vehicle, which was later recovered in Milpitas.
During the arrest of the suspects at their residence in Fremont, police conducted a probation search upon discovering a stolen $7,000 camera, that had been taken from an auto burglary in a neighboring city. Though unrelated to the initial crime, this find points to possible deeper connections between thefts of various nature.
The suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on multiple charges, such as felony burglary, theft-related charges, and conspiracy.
