On Tuesday night, frantic calls poured in shortly after 10:39 p.m., with witnesses reporting gunshots and a vehicle collision near Hawthorn and Arbutus Avenue in Sunnyvale. Responding quickly to the scene, officers discovered the male victim agonizingly injured, sustaining a gunshot wound, according to a Facebook post from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. He was immediately provided with life-saving treatment at the site and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.
Currently, the nameless victim remains in critical condition. The preliminary investigation conducted by the authorities seems to indicate that the man was seated inside his vehicle when an unknown suspect in another vehicle approached him, firing two shots and fatally striking the victim once before the suspects quickly fled in their vehicle.
