Two local men in Lucerne Valley, California, identified as Michael Buckmaster, 41, and Scotty Hayden, 33, were arrested on Tuesday, September 26, after driving through a fence and stealing property from a shipping container at a property near Fern Road and Hayes Road according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. These actions, taking place in the early hours of the day, brought with it a variety of charges, including burglary, vandalism, and conspiracy.
While these events are not unique to the Lucerne Valley, Victor Valley News Group reported that a caller brought the burglary in progress to the attention of law enforcement officials. When Deputy D. Steuerwald arrived on the scene, the suspects attempted to flee in their truck, only to be swiftly taken into custody.
It was revealed that Buckmaster and Hayden had gained access into the shipping container and had loaded the stolen property into their truck. The cost of the damage done to the fence and container was estimated at approximately $1,500.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the ongoing investigation into the case involving Buckmaster and Hayden invites anyone with information to come forward and share their knowledge.
